Tips to Keep your Tesla Trunk Clean in the Winter

Winter time is tough on the car, especially with all the snow, salt and mud – it’s a constant battle to keep the car looking clean on the outside and the inside. The trunk is no exception, especially if you carry a lot of stuff.
Here are some tips to help keep your car trunk clean in the winter:
⦁ Use a trunk liner: Using a trunk liner can help protect the trunk from scratches, spills, and dirt. The most common liners are rubber mats and carpeted mats but these are difficult to clean. Look for a machine washable trunk mat that can be washed in the washer and dryer.
⦁ Clean the trunk regularly: Regularly cleaning the trunk can help remove dirt and grime, and prevent stains from setting in. But, rubber mats cannot be cleaned regularly because they are heavy and difficult to dry, especially in the winter. And, to effectively clean a carpeted mat, you literally need to go to a detailing center. The machine washable trunk mat is really convenient because you can put it in the washer and dryer and it is really clean.

Remove salt and debris: Winter roads are often treated with salt to melt snow and ice, which can be very corrosive to the car's paint and metal. Make sure to remove salt and debris from the trunk regularly, especially if you live in an area with heavy snowfall.

⦁ Keep wet gear separate: If you are carrying wet gear, such as boots, skis, or snowboards, make sure to keep them in a separate bag or container to avoid getting the trunk wet or dirty.
⦁ Use a protectant: Apply a protectant specifically designed for car interiors to the trunk to help protect it from stains, UV rays, and other elements.
⦁ Avoid harsh chemicals: Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials to clean the trunk as it can damage the finish.
⦁ Keep it organized: Organize items in the trunk so that they don't move around and scratch the trunk.
⦁ Regularly check for damages: Regularly inspect the trunk for damages and address them as soon as possible to prevent further damage.
By following these tips, you can help keep your car trunk clean and in great condition even in the winter.
